Meeting of March 29, 2014

This spring is off to a great start for ONSD..

The Annual ONSD Auction was a big success.  Our club treasury is enriched by $450.00.  Many thanks to Rodney Joslin who did an excellent job as auctioneer and Susan Neubauer who recorded bids and kept track of the money

Auction money will be used to insure that our ONSD Annual Seeded Hunt and picnic luncheon on May 24, 2014 will be a smash success.  (Remember that the dates had to be moved from the last day of the month to May 24 to obtain the two shelters.)

Our Club Hunt to Mendenhall Plantation was led by hunt master, Robert Underwood. He was presented with a silver dollar which was donated back to the club by Robert. Lots of good stuff found. Everything found was donated to museum.

Our next regularly scheduled ONSD meeting will take place on Saturday, April  26, 2014.
We meet at the East Coast Wings & Grill Restaurant at 9:00 a.m. Our special guest speaker will be Dr. Roy Stine,  professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  Dr. Stine is a respected professional archeologist.  He will be describing some new ways to uncover and preserve the past.  This will be an enjoyable and instructive meeting.

Odds & Ends:

*  Keep on the lookout for a club hunt location.  A silver dollar will be awarded to any member who identifies a site that results in a club hunt.

*  The Blue Ridge Treasure Hunters Club, Hendersonville, NC is holding a club hunt at Myrtle Beach on May 16 & 17.  Our club has been invited to participate.  Should you be interested, please call me at 855-7034.

*  In the happy event that you find and return a valuable item to their owner you may  receive the Randy Woolbright  Community Service Award
