Past Successes & Upcoming Club Events

December 1, 2012

Hello, ONSD Members,

The club has enjoyed some remarkable successes during the past few weeks.

Saturday, October 27, 2012
Twenty ONSD members showed up for a club hunt at the N.C. Copper and Gold Mining Company site in Jamestown. A table-full of artifacts was uncovered. Everyone had a good time hunting.

Wednesday, October 31, 2102
Four members came together in Greensboro to find a lost diamond ring valued at over $2,000. Congratulations to Jerry Gilliam for finding it. He was as happy in finding and returning the ring as was the woman who lost it.

November 2, 2012
Twenty-five members met at Burnt Chimneys, site of a 1900’s era farm and out-building. A large collection of artifacts were uncovered. One member found a 1923 silver dime, another, a Kennedy half-dollar.

November 7, 2012
Fifteen ONSD members responded to an urgent call from a lady in Kernersville to find a lost bracelet that had great sentimental value. The bracelet was found by the lady who was walking along with a detectorist. To add to the day's success, Jody Sanders found a child's ring that had been lost earlier by her daughter.

November 17, 2012
There was a club hunt at the Jordan Cabin, one of the oldest buildings in the Madison, N.C. area. A large turn out of club members resulted in many artifacts and relics being recovered and turned over to the Madison Historical Districts and Property Commission for their displays.

December 1, 2012
The club hunted the Tucker House near Pleasant Garden, part of a homestead dating from the late 1870’s.

And coming up...
December 15, 2012

The regularly scheduled club meeting will take place at the Kathleen Clay Edwards Family Branch Library Community Room at 1420 Price Park Road in Greensboro. Be sure to bring an inexpensive wrapped gift for a drawing during this Christmas meeting.

What impresses me the most is that our club is coming together as a team. When one member succeeds, everyone feels successful. Club members are forming friendships, sharing experiences, and helping one another. This is great! Let's keep the treasure hunting spirit going.

Happy Hunting
William
