General Club Information

The Old North State Detectorists are an association of metal detecting hobbyists who abide by a Code of Ethics and work to assist individuals and others with the finding and returning of lost items at no charge.

We want to help you search for lost items on your property. Let us volunteer our services to find missing items such as rings or jewelry in a yard or at the lake. Searches of old homesteads and property is our speciality. Found items are always returned to the owner.

Know a friend or relative who has lost something valuable? Do you own property which may have had old homes, businesses, or even Revolutionary or Civil War camp sites or skirmishes on it? If you are curious as to what artifacts or valuables might be buried at these locations we would love to hear from you!

ONSD club members have included a retired UNCG Professor, Sheriff's Deputy, County Park Ranger, business owners, IT professionals, and retirees. In general, our group is represented by men and women of all ages and metal detecting experience.
